Botox Pre-Care & Aftercare Instructions
How to Prepare for Botox and Care for Your Skin After Treatment
At Eureka Body Care & Spa in New York City, we want every client to feel informed and comfortable before and after their Botox treatment. Following proper care instructions can help minimize temporary side effects and support your treatment results.
Before Your Botox Appointment
- Inform your injector about medications, supplements, allergies, medical conditions, and previous cosmetic injections.
- Let us know if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have a neuromuscular condition.
- Avoid alcohol for approximately 24 hours before treatment to help minimize bruising.
- Arrive with clean skin whenever possible.
- Discuss aspirin, blood thinners, and anti-inflammatory medications with your healthcare provider. Never stop prescribed medication without medical approval.
After Your Botox Treatment
- Avoid rubbing, massaging, or applying firm pressure to treated areas for the remainder of the day.
- Avoid strenuous exercise for the rest of the treatment day unless your injector advises otherwise.
- Be gentle when cleansing your face or applying skincare and makeup.
- Postpone facial massages and treatments involving significant pressure on injected areas until cleared by your injector.
- Follow any additional instructions provided by your treating professional.
What to Expect After Botox
Mild redness, swelling, tenderness, or small bruises around injection sites can occur and usually improve naturally.
Botox results generally begin appearing within several days, with full effects commonly assessed around 14 days after treatment. Results often last approximately 3–4 months, although individual experiences vary.
