Body Sculpting & Fat Freezing Pre-Care & Aftercare Instructions

How to Prepare for Your Body Contouring Treatment and What to Do Afterwards

Body sculpting at Eureka Body Care & Spa includes non-surgical treatments such as fat freezing (cryolipolysis) and other contouring technologies designed to target stubborn areas and the appearance of cellulite. These treatments require no surgery and little to no downtime. The guidance below helps you prepare and take care of the treated area afterwards.

Before Your Body Sculpting Appointment

  • Wear comfortable, loose clothing to your appointment.
  • Stay well hydrated in the days before your session.
  • Tell your provider about any hernias, recent surgery in the treatment area, or conditions affected by cold (such as cryoglobulinemia or cold sensitivity disorders) — fat freezing is not suitable for everyone.
  • Tell your provider if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Avoid applying heavy creams or oils to the treatment area on the day of your session.

After Your Body Sculpting Treatment

  • After fat freezing, the treated area may feel numb, tingly, firm, or mildly sore, and can look red or lightly bruised. These sensations are temporary and usually fade over days to a few weeks.
  • Your provider may massage the treated area right after the session; gentle self-massage at home can also be recommended — follow your provider’s guidance.
  • Stay hydrated and keep up light, regular movement to support circulation.
  • Normal activities and exercise can usually be resumed right away, as tolerated.
  • Results develop gradually as the body processes the treated fat cells — allow 4 to 12 weeks to judge your outcome, and maintain a stable weight for the best results.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does fat freezing hurt?

Most clients feel intense cold and pulling at the start, which eases as the area becomes numb. Mild soreness or tingling afterwards is common.

How many fat freezing sessions will I need?

Some clients are satisfied after one session per area; others benefit from additional sessions. Your provider will recommend a plan based on the area and your goals.

When will I see body sculpting results?

Changes develop gradually over 4 to 12 weeks after a session. Body sculpting is not a weight-loss treatment — it targets the shape of specific areas.

Is there downtime after body sculpting?

Most non-surgical body sculpting treatments, including fat freezing, have little to no downtime, and clients usually return to their day right away.

Who should not have fat freezing?

Fat freezing is not suitable for people with certain cold-related conditions, hernias in the treatment area, or during pregnancy. Your provider will review your suitability before treatment.

When to Contact a Medical Professional

Contact your treating clinician if you develop blistering, severe or worsening pain, rapidly increasing swelling, or skin discoloration that does not improve. Seek prompt care for any severe reaction.
